Most buildings will have a single energy entry point with a primary meter attached monitoring total energy input to the building. But for landlords of multiple occupancy buildings, this solitary meter will not provide the level of detail required to accurately calculate how much each tenant is consuming. For this you need secondary or sub metering. By attaching a sub meter at the entry point to each unit, a landlord can reliably measure the amount of...

The latest model of Enistic’s sub meters has been upgraded to include micro-sensing technology. Where a CT (Current Sensor) clamp would normally have an operational range of +/- 10% of its quoted ampere rating - i.e. a 100 amp clamp would normally be suitable for current between the range 0f 10 amps – 90 amps - with micro-sensing, this operational range is drastically increased. The benefit of this is that the variety of CT clamps required...

ISO 50001 is an international energy management standard designed to help organisations to use energy efficiencies to save money, conserve resources and tackle climate change. The voluntary framework for ISO 50001 certification requires organisations to create an energy efficiency policy and, through an ongoing process of measurement, review and implementation, reach ever-improving energy efficiency targets. There has been some industry speculation on whether the Environment Agency could extend the deadline on ESOS compliance. The 5 December is frighteningly close, even for those getting near the end of their ESOS compliance journey, and much more so for those just at the beginning.  This week we have spoken to the Environment Agency amid widespread concerns on the low number of businesses which have actually notified compliance to date – 199 at the last...

Installing the Enistic energy management system identified cost savings of £120,000 and cut consumption by 30%! On the face of it the building, which is 12 years-old and just undergone a 3-month refurbishment seemed to be fairly efficient.  However, keen to maximise energy efficiency OVO chose to install Enistic multi channel sub metering solutions backed by our...
